The ShowerBreeze and QuickBreeze irrigators serve several purposes; effective pressurized cleaning between the teeth, along the gum line as well as stimulation of the gums to improve blood circulation and promote healthy gingiva. Irrigation with the standard, wide-opening tip will also help clean below the gum line, though only 2mm-4mm deep. Where one is known to have deeper pockets, irrigation can be very effective in reversing and shrinking deep pockets caused by periodontal disease.
The Oral Breeze cannula tip and adapter set attaches to the pik handle - just like switching pik heads - but allows the user to irrigate between the teeth and gums, deeper underneath the gum tissue than the standard tip allows. The bacteria which are thought to be the cause of periodontal disease and decay underneath the gums can now be accessed and flushed out. If you know you have pockets deeper than 4 millimeters, a cannula tip and adapter set would be an inexpensive but wise investment to aid in the body's healing of periodontal pockets caused by decay. The OralBreeze tip adapter set fits both the ShowerBreeze and QuickBreeze models.
